Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about working with MOMally
Common Questions
Do you only work with babies?
No, we support families well beyond the infant stage. We have expertise in newborn care and the transition to parenthood as well as extensive knowledge of child development. Our sleep consulting packages are designed for children ranging from newborns to children up to 10 years old. We frequently help parents navigate:
- Newborn sleep challenges
- Sleep Shaping and Sleep Training
- Creating healthy and efficient bedtime routines
- Bedtime resistance
- Night wakings
- Nighttime fears
- Age appropriate sleep schedules and routines
Do you use "Cry It Out" (CIO) methods?
We do not subscribe to a "one-size-fits-all" methodology, nor are we "Cry It Out" purists. We believe that there are many ways to teach a child to sleep, ranging from very gentle, gradual approaches to more direct methods, depending entirely on your family's comfort level/needs and your child's temperament.
However, we are honest about the fact that change often involves some protest. We define sleep training as "helping parents learn how to stop helping their babies sleep," and sometimes that process involves protest or discomfort as children learn new skills. Our goal is to minimize distress while maximizing effectiveness, ensuring you never feel like you are leaving your child unsupported.

Do you offer a guarantee?
We do not offer a money-back guarantee. Babies and children are humans, not robots, and their sleep can be affected by illness, travel, developmental milestones, and temperament. While we cannot guarantee a specific outcome because we cannot control every variable in your child's life, our track record speaks for itself. We provide you with a custom written plan and extensive follow-up support to troubleshoot issues as they arise, empowering you to navigate future regressions with confidence.
Are your services covered by insurance?
Sleep consulting is not typically covered by standard medical insurance. However, some families have had success using their FSA (Flexible Spending Account) or HSA (Health Savings Account) funds to pay for sleep consulting services. We recommend checking with your specific provider to see if this is an option for you.
Do I have to be in New York City to work with you?
Not at all. While we offer in-home consultations for families in the NYC area, we work with families all over the world virtually. Our virtual sleep packages are comprehensive and include a detailed evaluation, a 90-minute video consultation, a written plan, and two weeks of daily follow-up support via email, text, and phone.
What if I don't need a full sleep training package?
We understand that sometimes you just need a quick reset or an answer to a specific question. We offer "Sleep Tune-Up" calls for past clients or brief 30-minute sessions to track progress and address minor concerns. We also host virtual "Slumber Parties"—small group classes where you can gather your friends to learn about sleep foundations together at a lower price point.
MOMally Tip: Trust your gut, not your anxious mind. You are the expert on your own child. Our job is simply to provide the expertise and the "village" to help you feel confident in those instincts.
