Secrets of Sleep Consultants

I’m going to let you in on a little secret that sleep consultants don’t want you to know.

You ready?

We do not have any secret tricks to get babies and kids to sleep.

It’s true. There are no magic bullets. I’m not keeping a secret method under lock and key that I only bestow upon those who can afford to hire me. If that were the case, that’d be one really well kept secret!

There’s only so much sleep science out there. There are a ton of books: some good, some bad. I’ve read them all. You could read them, too. But you’re too f***ing tired, right?

Parents ask me, “So why hire you? Why can’t I just read the books and do it myself?”

You absolutely CAN. The thing is: there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. One method may work better than another for a particular parent or a particular baby. THAT is where the hours of training, reading ALL the books and years of experience come in. I have likely seen it before and can tailor a plan to suit your parenting style and your family’s needs. If you’ve got a particularly challenging sleeper, I have a whole community of certified sleep consultants who have my back and are willing to help me find solutions. We’re sleep geeks: we love this stuff.

Even more importantly, I will be your biggest cheerleader. Anyone can research the best methods to teach a baby to sleep, but implementing it and sticking with it is another story altogether. It’s like hiring a personal trainer. When you’re about to give up, I’ll be there to cheer you on and keep you going. I provide support and will help you to tweak the plan, if necessary. I’ll also remind you that when you stick with our plan and maintain consistency IT WORKS.

I used to have a lot of judgment about sleep consultants. In the years that I suffered with sleep issues regarding my own child, I was desperate for help. I had a stack of books on my nightstand that I was too tired to comprehend. I thought sleep consultants were greedy people who were taking advantage of parents in their most vulnerable moments. If only I knew then what I know now!!! Hiring a sleep consultant would have been the best money I could have spent. Sure, you can do it yourself, but it’s much easier with support and guidance.

There is nothing more valuable than a healthy, happy, rested child with healthy, happy, rested parents. Ah, well. I didn’t hire one. But it’s not too late for you!
